Add Comment Prevent TeleRIS Auto-Logoff with ClickWhen 09/05/2010
Do you hate getting logged off of the TeleRIS in the middle of the night? Getting the IT people to do something about it would take something short of a miracle. Since I have not seen any of our IT folks change water into wine recently, here's a little work around to prevent from being kicked off of the TeleRIS: 1. Go to http://lifehacker.com/260445/automate-timed-mouse-clicks-with-clickwhen 2. Read about ClickWhen, an automated mouse click program. 3. Download and install it into your DOCUMENTS folder, otherwise it won't install correctly. 4. Open it. Choose to NOT have regular updates. 5. Click on the NEXT button and the screen will get a little dim. This is when you choose where you want your mouse to click. 6. Choose the REFRESH list button on the TeleRIS. 7. Set it to click every 15 minutes for an "INF" or infinite amount. 8. Enjoy never having to be unecessarily logged off the TeleRIS again. 9. To turn off ClickWhen, right click the icon on the bottom right hand corner of the screen and choose exit. Understand that the program will click the REFRESH button or whatever button you told it to click regardless of whether you move things around on your screen. Also know that if you are in the middle of a dictation or action packed Netflix video, ClickWhen will bring to the top of your desktop, the window of the program you told it to click, thus disrupting whatever you are doing. Enjoy! If you have problems, let James know. What it takes to be a Chief Resident 08/11/2010
All characters and events depicted and discussed are fictional, and any resemblance to persons living, dead, or fictional; or situations past, present, or fictional is completely coincidental. Ever wonder what you are suppose to say for those darn transplant kidney and liver ultrasounds? With so many velocites and resistive indices, what are we to include in our dictation? Got an obstetric ultrasound to do? Dr. Buadu has provided some dictation templates just for that purpose. Check it out here, under the category Ultrasound. Mammogragraphy Teaching File 05/29/2010

Congratulations and condolences to those completing and inheriting the overnight general call responsibilities, respectively. As the general call torch is handed down from the outgoing, tired and downtrodden second year class to the incoming, wide-eyed and eager second year class, there are pearls of wisdom to be shared that may or may not have been picked up during your first year radiology experience while on swing shifts or weekend coverage. Here is a collection of sage advice from those who have survived the fun that is general call at the University Medical Center. For an updated list of radiology call tips, check out this link.
