Welcome to Tucson!

You'll never feel deprived of sunlight as a radiology resident at the University of Arizona; there's never a shortage of sunshine here in Tucson.  With plenty of activities for outdoor enthusiasts and a low cost of living, Tucson is a great city to live in.  Less than two hours from Phoenix and just a days drive from Southern California, there are many ways to make use of the generous vacation days (5 weeks) that the radiology residents enjoy.

Besides the nice vacation policy, residents at the University of Arizona also have an assortment of optional internal and external moonlighting that begins as early as your first year of radiology.

University Medical Center of Tucson, where you'll spend most your time, is the only level one trauma center in all of Southern Arizona.  That means as a resident, you'll become well acquainted with diagnosing radiologic trauma.  Serving a wide variety of patient populations will result in great exposure to a spectrum of pathology.  Rotations are also spent at Tucson's VA Hospital and the Tucson Breast Center.

Radiology residents from the University of Arizona do extremely well on the boards and go on to very strong fellowship programs.  We are a resident driven program that accepts 6-7 self-motivated and team oriented residents each year.
